I already received two emails with tour assignments for the bands Colony House and Rubblebucket!
Colony House
Their mellow indie-rock sound has the perfect college vibe to it for when you are hanging out with your friends in your apartment's living room to getting that perfect flow going while studying with your headphones in! If you are into bands such as "Young the Giant", "Foster the People" and "New Politics" Colony House is well worth looking into as they have a very similar following to these bands. I would definitely suggest checking out their latest music video to Silhouette which I think is a very well made and interpreted video. I have always been most interested in how bands put together their music videos because it shows a little more about them than just how they interpret their music through recordings but also through visuals.
They originate from Franklin, TN which is right by Nashville and is extremely exciting that I get to represent them when they come back home. Colony House got their name from an apartment complex located in Franklin in which they all had lived at one point in their lives. It helps them keep a little part of home with them as they travel and share a piece of themselves through their music. I cannot wait for them to arrive to Nashville on 9/27 and get to experience a concert at home.
Feel free to follow them on Facebook, Twitter @colonyhouseband, Youtube or Instagram @colonyhouseband. Or check out their website at http://www.colonyhousemusic.com ! If you want to start downloading their music check out https://itunes.apple.com/album/colony-house-ep-single/id766758275. I really hope you can get into their music like I have these past few weeks, they are a really awesome band with a TON of potential!
Here's one of my favorite songs by them, Keep on Keeping on.
Rubblebucket
Rubblebucket is a totally different vibe to Colony house but still really awesome band with super unique sounds! They really remind me of a band that would be in a movie like Juno. They are very alternative and unique but have a very catchy sound. Rubblebucket also incorporates brass sounds such as a tuba, trumpet and trombone in their music that gives them a ska feel and gives me, a musician, a great appreciation for their sound. Their live video of On The Ground got me to really start getting into their music, you can see the musical passion while they all play along with their unique style. They are not a typical band I would play on repeat in my car but something about their music makes me keep wanting to explore their sound and new songs they release.
Coming from Brooklyn, NY you can really get that sense of alternative indie-dance music that has been blowing up in the US. The band has influences from reggae, psychedelic indie-rock, and indie-dance which you can hear a little bit of every one of those in most of their songs. When assigned to their concert I was told I will be recieving masks to give out before and during the concert which really intregues me to get to know the type of following this band usually has. Named by the Boston Music Awards as the Live Act of the Year, makes me even more excited to be able to participate in their musical promotion and concert on 10/29 in Nashville.
Feel free to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram @rubblebucket, or check out their website at www.rubblebucket.com! For more information on the group you can find them on Wikipeia or through the press:
Here is my favorite song by them Carousel Ride:
HOPE YOU ENJOY THESE NEW BANDS!
